Wherever I am, I try to find places like this and I wasn’t disappointed. Normally I don’t get biscuits and gravy, but the gravy here looked so good that I had to try. Well, the gravy was delicious and the biscuits they use are great!

When traveling, we try to avoid “chain” restaurants and look for anything with diner, cafe, or family restaurant in the name. While passing through Portage we happened to spot the Portage Cafe. It was a mother and son working there. The service and food were both fantastic! Would definitely stop again if we’re in the area.

My family and I have gone here multiples times, and we’ve gone back multiple times for a reason. The food is so comforting and delicious! Not to mention the staff are so friendly, going way above and beyond in all they do. My daughter was getting a bit fussy waiting for her food, and we were brought sliced berries and bananas! We didn’t ask for them, the so very kind busser brought them to us. This place goes out of their way to treat you like family. This diner has become our new regular spot!!
